How to Clear Static Electricity from Skirt?
Electrostatic adsorption on skirts is caused by electrical charges that accumulate due to drying, friction, and other similar reasons. There are some quick ways to get rid of static adsorption, but if your wardrobe is constantly facing static problems, you may also want to consider longer-term solutions. Here are guidelines on eliminating electrostatic adsorption.
Method 1: A quick way to eliminate electrostatic adsorption
1. Quickly sweep the skirt with a metal hanger first. Before putting on the skirt, slide the wire hanger quickly into the inside of the skirt and sweep it.
Metal discharges electric current, so it can dissipate static electricity. You can also use other metal objects to sweep the skirt for the same purpose.
You can also pass the hanger between the skin and the skirt after putting on the skirt. In fact, it's best to put the skirt on immediately after using this method, or do it while the skirt is on your body.
This method works especially well with delicate fabrics, such as silk.
2. Change shoes. Shoes with leather soles instead of rubber soles.
The rubber builds up an electrical charge, which creates static electricity.
Since leather doesn't build up an electrical charge like rubber, it's easier to keep you grounded in leather shoes.
3. Spray fabric softener on your clothes. Mix fabric softener and water in a ratio of 1:30, pour into a spray bottle, and spray on static skirts.
This recipe is only a rough estimate, however, you should use more water than fabric softener.
Spray on the parts of the skirt that come into contact with the skin, especially the inner side of the skirt, which is the easiest to rub against the skin.
4. Hide a pin inside the skirt. Insert a metal pin into the seam on the inside of the skirt.
The metal releases the charge that builds up in the skirt, preventing you from being electrocuted or making the clothes stick to your skin.
Pin the pin to the seam on the inside of the skirt or anywhere that is covered. Avoid putting it on the front of your skirt or near the exposed seam, and pin it out of your sight so no one else can see it.
Method 2: The method of removing electrostatic adsorption in advance
1. Add baking soda to your laundry. Sprinkle 60ml of baking soda on the skirt before starting the washing program on the washing machine.
If there are more skirts, you may need to use 125ml of baking soda. If you are using it with other methods of neutralizing static electricity, reduce the amount of baking soda to about 15 to 30 ml. Baking soda can effectively form a barrier on each piece of clothing, preventing positive and negative charges from accumulating and causing attachment to each other.
Using baking soda also has the added benefit of eliminating odors.
2. Throw the tin foil into the washing machine. Roll up the tin foil and throw it in the washing machine, then start the normal wash cycle.
Tin foil can release positive and negative charges created by cleaning procedures.
Only put tin foil in the washing machine. Do not put it in the dryer, it can be dangerous.
3. Use fabric softener. Both liquid fabric softeners and softeners can help prevent static electricity.
A charge builds up when wet skirts are tossed in the dryer, causing the skirts to stick to each other or to each other. Clothes softeners contain chemicals that specifically stop the build-up of electrical charges.
Preventing charge build-up when washing and drying clothes can make treated skirts less dry and less likely to build up static electricity when hanging in the closet.
4. Use a dryer ball. Before you start drying your skirt, put a dryer ball or two in the dryer.
Dryer balls are designed to soften clothes without chemical softeners. They help prevent clothing from becoming too stiff, which is more likely to develop static adsorption than soft clothing.
Dryer balls also reduce contact between fabrics in the dryer. The electrical charge builds up as each skirt rubs against the other, so reducing this contact also reduces static electricity.
5. Put a damp towel in the dryer. Switch the dryer to the lowest setting for the last 10 minutes of the drying program, then place in a clean, slightly damp towel or face towel.
Charges are likely to accumulate in a state where the air becomes too dry. So putting a wet towel at the end of the drying process can prevent the drying mechanism's air from drying out.
6. Shake the skirts after removing them from the dryer. Give each garment you take out of the dryer a quick shake.
The rationale here is to prevent the inrush of static electricity. However, this method only works if the skirt is removed immediately after the drying cycle.
7. Air dry the skirt. Dry the skirts outside until completely dry or remove them from the dryer before they are completely dry, then leave them outside to continue drying.
A large portion of the electrostatic charge is accumulated when the wet skirt is completely dried by thermal energy. Air-drying skirts can keep your clothes from drying out too much, which can lead to overcharging.
